We are committed to a Church for all ages and want to help children grow up as members of our Church family. We are fortunate to be able to offer a selection of opportunities to encourage people. These occur during school term times.

This is our group dedicated to secondary school aged children. It is run on Sunday mornings alongside the other children’s groups. It also meets on a Wednesday Evening at the Fellowship Afloat activity Centre: http://www.fact.org.uk/salt

Edward Bear Club !

Come and join us today

Edward Bear Club takes place every Monday during term time from 10 am to 11 am in St Mary’s Church Tollesbury. It is based on Faith Friendship and Fun. It is a chance for children aged 0-5 years to sing songs, hear bibles stories, and do a craft activity. It gives mums and carers a chance to have a tea/coffee and a chat.

Sunday School and Crèche

Children are welcome at all our services but particular provision is made for them at:

9:30 am on the first Sunday of the month at Tolleshunt Major

11:00 am on the second Sunday of the month at Tolleshunt D’Arcy.

9:30 am on the fourth Sunday of the month at Tollesbury

For the youngest children there is a crèche. This has a dedicated area inside the worship area of the church. Mums and Dads can stay close and can help with a simple craft of colouring and a story.

On the first, second and Fourth Sundays in the month children remain with us at the beginning of worship and then go to their own group either in an adjacent building or a caravan. Later they join us again to share what they have been doing and for the final worship.

There are currently 4 groups: covering all school ages to 16

Tollesbury St Mary’s Family Service with Edward Bear Club

11 am 3rd Sunday of each monthCome and Join Edward Bear and Sally on the third Sunday of the month for a short family service. It's a service for everyone and like Edward Bear Club includes songs, stories and prayers, but for older children and adults takes things a little bit further. Stay afterwards for a chat and some refreshments.

St Nicholas Tolleshunt D’Arcy Family Service

This takes place at 11 am on the 4th Sunday of the month. We all stay together to join and grow in worship. The songs and worship are chosen to provide something for everybody. It is a great time for the family of God to worship together.

Tollesbury after Schools Club

This is a joint venture with Tollesbury Congregational Church and takes place three or four times each school half term.

Children and Communion

We very much hope everybody will to feel part of Jesus’ family. To help children in Key Stage Two (those approaching 8) and above, we offer the possibility of receiving Communion before Confirmation. These children will belong to families who are regular members off the congregation. There is a training course and the need for family, child and ministers to feel this is the right thing for each child. If a child thinks this is the correct thing for them please ask them to talk to one of the ordained ministers or the children’s work leaders.
